You don’t need a Couch Club Trivia account to play. Regular scores and selected answers stay on your device. Online features use a random device ID to avoid repeats and, for Today’s Ten, enforce one daily attempt and calculate score comparisons. Our marketing pages have no advertising or analytics trackers.

Who we are

Good Company Games (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Couch Club Trivia, its Roku and Apple TV trivia games, its question service, and couchclubtrivia.com. This policy describes our information practices for those services. You can contact us at support@couchclubtrivia.com.

What stays on your device

The game stores your regular club record, such as rounds played, scores, correct answers, and streaks, along with your music preference and a history of questions dealt. It also creates a random identifier for the app’s stored data. This identifier is not a Roku or Apple Account ID, advertising ID, hardware serial number, name, or email address.

Regular solo and party scores and selected answers are not sent to our question service. Today’s Ten uses the limited online data described below. A browser version of the game, if provided, uses browser storage for equivalent game data. The marketing website itself does not store a game record.

When the game connects

If the online question library is enabled, the game sends its random app identifier, a random request identifier, the selected category and difficulty, and the number of questions requested. The service records which questions it dealt and when, so it can favor questions you haven’t seen and handle repeated requests consistently.

The service also records the app platform (Roku, Apple TV, or browser preview), supplied by the app or inferred from its request information, with online round and Today’s Ten records. A shared keyed hash lets us count a device once across both game modes in daily platform summaries.

The question service stores a one-way hash of the app identifier rather than the identifier itself. This still lets it recognize the same app data over time; it is not a promise that the record is completely anonymous. We do not use it to build an advertising profile or to track activity across other companies’ apps.

An offline round does not need to send a round request. Basic network information, including an IP address, necessarily reaches the service when it is contacted. The service uses IP addresses temporarily to limit abusive request traffic.

Today’s Ten

Today’s Ten gives every device the same daily quiz and allows one counted attempt for each random app-generated device ID. The service receives that device ID and stores a keyed hash of it rather than the raw value. It stores the edition, attempt progress, score, correct-answer count, streak, response timing, points, and whether each answer was correct. Idempotent response records can also contain the selected answer while the detailed attempt is retained.

Completed scores are added to anonymous buckets from 0 through 10. These aggregate buckets produce the score distribution and comparison shown to players. Public results do not contain device IDs, names, exact locations, or per-device histories.

Website visits and messages

Our marketing pages do not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or local-storage identifiers. Fonts, images, and scripts are served with the site rather than loaded from advertising or analytics services. Hosting and security providers may process technical request information such as IP addresses, client information, requested URLs, timestamps, request duration, and errors to deliver and protect the website and question API. Our Google Cloud request-log bucket currently uses a 30-day retention setting. Access-controlled previews may require their host’s sign-in cookies.

If you email support@couchclubtrivia.com, we receive your email address, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use these to respond, investigate issues, and handle privacy requests. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

How information is used and shared

We use the information described above to provide questions, reduce repeats, resume Today’s Ten attempts, enforce one counted daily attempt per device ID, calculate score comparisons, respond to support requests, and maintain service reliability and security. We also summarize existing gameplay records in a private administrative dashboard to understand question requests, participation, repeat play, completion, and question accuracy. This does not add advertising trackers or send regular-game answers or scores to us. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The current service does not include targeted advertising or third-party analytics.

Providers that host our services or deliver support email may process information to provide those services. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable privacy protections. We do not publish individual players’ scores or question histories.

How long information is kept

Local records remain in the app’s device storage until that storage is cleared, replaced, or removed by the platform. Clearing a browser game’s site data removes its local record and app identifier. Roku manages its own app storage; removing an app may not immediately erase every associated platform record.

The online service retains regular question history associated with the hashed app identifier to avoid repeats while that device remains active. That history expires after 12 months without another regular round from the device ID. Cached regular-round responses expire after seven days. Detailed Today’s Ten attempts and answer records expire after 90 days. Edition-level score buckets may remain as aggregate historical statistics. Temporary rate-limit entries expire during service operation.

Support correspondence and infrastructure logs are retained for the operational purpose they serve and any applicable legal requirements. Retention can depend on the hosting or email provider. Contact us if you have a question about a particular record.

Your choices and rights

You can play without creating an account, change the music preference in the game, and stop using the service at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to complain to a relevant privacy authority.

Send requests to support@couchclubtrivia.com. We may need enough information to verify your request and find a record. Because we do not link game identifiers to names or email addresses, an email address alone may not identify your app’s online question history. Clearing a local identifier does not itself delete a previously stored server history. We will explain any identification or legal limitations that apply to your request.

Younger players

Couch Club Trivia is intended for a general audience and shared game nights, including families playing together. It does not ask players for a name, date of birth, email address, photo, or account, and it has no chat or public profiles. An online round may still involve the app identifier and technical information described above.

Parents and guardians should supervise younger players and contact us rather than asking children to submit personal information for support. If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should be removed, contact support@couchclubtrivia.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Apple, Roku, and other services

Apple and Roku operate their own platforms, accounts, and app stores. Apple’s practices are described in Apple’s privacy policy. Roku’s collection and use of information are governed by Roku’s privacy policy. Links to third-party sites lead to services governed by their own policies. This policy does not replace those policies.

Information processed by our hosting or email providers may be handled in countries other than your own. Applicable legal protections may differ. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. We will provide any additional notice or obtain consent required by applicable law before making a change that requires it.
